Julie A. Caprio, is the Artistic Director, of Ballet Technique and Hamilton Ballet Theatre. She has danced with the Washington Ballet Company, the Kansas City Ballet Company and the Harkness Dance Theatre of NYC. She has studied with the late Choo San Goh and Janek Shergan of the Washington Ballet Co., Maestro Celli in NYC and New Orleans (original Cecchetti Method), Todd Bolender, Una Kai and Johnathon Watts of the Kansas City Ballet and Robert Blankshine,  Robert Scevers,  Lisa Bradley,  Nora Kovach,  Julia Simmone and Luk de Layress of the Harkness House of Ballet Arts in New York City.

She has performed for the Prince of Japan and the Princess of Bangkok, Thailand. Also performed in Japan,  Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila and Korea where she received a Medal of Honor. Under the direction of Christopher Aponte’, she  performed in Taiwan. Ms. Caprio returned from China (1996) where she was featured in several ballets including the renowned “Red Detachment of Women:.  She has also performed  with Valentina and Leonid Kozlov and performed in the Grand Ball Performance in New York City before the United Nations (General Assembly).

She was a member of the Board of Advisors, Mercer County School of Performing Arts. She has taught in Bielefeld Germany International Dance Project and taught and choreographed for the Governor’s school in New Jersey.

Jennifer Dunning, New York Times, stated “Julie Caprio provided a good classical framework for some exuberant and finished dancing. Incantation a la Lune had Miss Caprio and Mr. Grant racing through ardent runs and supported arabesques, as well as some tricky lifts, competently put together.”

Jennie Schulman, Dance Dairy, “Back Stage” stated “the pas de deux for Julie Caprio and Joel Rich, was distinguished by a series of intricate lifts, executed effortlessly by the lithe-limbed Ms. Caprio, who was given staunch support by Mr. Rich.”

Barton Winble, Daily News, stated, “Dance Incantation a la Lune was a nice structured pas de deux that served to show Malcolm Grant and Julie Caprio as coming dancers.”


Julia R. Caprio is the Executive Director of Ballet Technique and also a Board Member of Hamilton Ballet Theatre. She is responsible for all administrative matters of the school such as: registration, class scheduling, marketing, finance, budgeting and advertising. Ms. Caprio has over twenty six years of hands on experience.
